Take the case of athlete turned national coach Mae Soriano, an Asiad veteran who shattered stereotypes and broke limitations in a male-dominated sport.
Soriano ventured into competitions across various countries, undeterred by traditional gender roles. In the dynamic realm of karate, “gender stereotypes hold no weight within the training environment”, said Coach Soriano.
Coach Mae Soriano, a multi-awarded Karateka, said that it is important to understand the benefits of Karate since it focuses on making a person stronger physically, mentally, and morally, aiming to improve overall health and well-being.
“My goal is empowering others by unlocking their full potential, which is a vital step in embarking on a journey towards self-confidence”, said Soriano.
Physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle is very valuable to Soriano as a sports enthusiast and a fitness guru.
